teaching overview

  • My current teaching load includes teaching graduate students in the Counseling department basic statistics/research and multivariate statistics. My approach is less mathematical and more applied statistics, in that they learn the appropriate analyses based on the question and the data, as well as learning the language of science.  Prior to Idaho State University I also taught an applied statistics course at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in the Biological Psychology program. My latest educational effort is in developing a logic model for learning applied statistics.  This model helps to guide the course planning and the execution.  I have found that it works best in a flipped classroom environment.
